So, do you think EDUCATION is vital in todays society? Is there a significant difference in someones life?
Education is the process of learning and acquiring knowledge of the school from a teacher, receiving knowledge at home from a parent, a family member and even a acquaintance. Education is a key that allows people to move around the world, seek better jobs and succeed in life. Education is a factor affecting workplaces that people hold, advances in their continued career, the income they make and the title they hold. The more educated a person is, the more prestige and power the person has.
But unfortunately we have places in the world, where not everybody has the opportunity or chance to get formal education. India is among the countries where there is a large population of people who are illiterate. Almost 55% of the population in India are illiterate. Partly because most of the country is located in villages and not in cities, where the education is more widespread. Most people living in villages spend most of their time cultivating crops and harvesting their fields and do not find it necessary to be trained to harvest their fields or to do household chores. The girls who live in villages marry at a young age and later get busy with the family and do household chores. According to Indian belief, girls usually get married at an early age and are advised to stay at home and take care of the household instead of studying or working. That is why many parents in India are worried about getting married to their daughter instead of her education. I can give you an example in my own life. When I was in India, I wanted to get further education and fulfill my dream. Contrary to what society thinks, I would pursue my career in health care to serve my own society. Support from my family, especially my grandfather, gave me the strength to keep my dream alive. I was 18 when we moved to the United States, and the transition to a different cultural, academic and political country was not easy. I did not know what I could do with my life when I arrived at the states. The transition was also difficult for my parents. The need to find a company, concern about my siblings education and me and adjustment in a new environment was definitely challenging. After doing the most of college in India, it was difficult for me to start over my college education. My fathers brother, a physician, inspired me to keep my dream alive to pursue a career in medicine. I started my education at Community College where I struggled with most of my classes in the first year, because the education system was different from what I used to be. I joined clubs and other organizations at the university to know more about the health care industry. I gained the knowledge I needed to pursue a career in medicine, yet I had never experienced how things are in the real world of medicine. I have done everything I could to help me fulfill my dream. I am currently an emergency medical technician and enjoy working in the allied health field.
I think Im educated is the most important not only for success in his life, but the better educated people play an important role in making a nation more successful and well-rounded. Getting formal education is crucial, but in order to achieve success in life, informal education is important. You can learn English, history, mathematics, science at school and be safe. Furthermore, one can learn to live life by knowing what to say when acting in a certain way in a specific situation and being street smart. You can have all the book knowledge in the world about a certain profession, but if you do not know how to behave with your colleagues and your superiors than having a book knowledge, you will not be too far away. For example, if you are a doctor in the profession, you have all the knowledge about the medical world and know a lot about the care, but if you do not have bedtime and do not interact well with your patients, employees and team work than is the purpose of having all book knowledge. In order to achieve success in life and reach a point in life where people respect you for what you are, what makes a difference, since you are distinguished both in formal and informal education. Education is very important and no one should be deprived of it.
No nation can only leave its security to the police and the army, largely national security depends on the education of citizens, their knowledge of affairs, their character and discipline and their ability to participate effectively in security measures.
A well-educated population represents a prosperous, well-developed, strong nation.
