I’m happy for Shockey because I think he brought Giants fans more good memories than bad and I hope he does well. Part of me wants to root for New Orleans anyway because the city was so down and out after Katrina. I certainly want to see a full recovery so i can hit Mardi Gras another time or two.

On the other hand, Peyton is Eli’s brother so I could root for the Colts too…

Doesn’t really matter I guess. No matter how you look at it there are no teams I love or hate in the big game…

Unlike the past few weeks, the Giants will probably have to fight to beat the Saints. Their offense is very good and the Giants defense will be tested. Will our lack of speed at linebacker be exposed? With Boley out the Saints ought to try to go over the middle. Not having Kenny Phillips hurts our ability to take care of receivers going through the middle as well. And you know Jeremy Shockey wants to have a big game – who’s gonna cover him?

On offense, I predict a big day for the Giants. The Saints have talent on defense to be sure but how much? They haven’t been tested by an elite QB yet. Can Eli Manning beat the Saints?

I think he can but it’s no sure thing so this will be an exciting game today!

Sure the dude is 32 and he eats funny but come on! He is a great tight end – far more consistent than Shockey was and far more dangerous than Kevin Boss currently is.

Certainly no complaining about his motivation: “I haven’t even won a playoff game. That’s the reality of it. You can look back and say you had a pretty good career, but I want to be able to say I went to the playoffs, I won some playoff games and I went to the Super Bowl.”
