Pretty good read on Nicks compared to some of the reviews on his collegiate career. What I don’t understand is that everyone says that he won’t be able to run by guys at the pro level like Plaxico. Nicks 40 yard times are better than Plax’s coming out of college. He may not have his height but he does have more speed and very good hands, as well as great route running, and yards after catch.
It will be interesting to look back in a few years and compare Macklin to Nicks since it seems we were very close to getting Macklin via trade with the Lions at # 20. And a #6 round pick to move up two picks ( the Eagle-Browns 1st rd. swap of picks) in round one seems very cheap doesn’t it? I wonder if the Browns were sticking it to NY for not completing the Edwards trade on their terms? They kept us from getting Macklin and allowed our division rival to snag him. I like Nicks anyway. Let’s bring it on, Philly!
