Five Things The Giants Must Do To Guarantee Success
Over the past few weeks, New York has made some giant, excuse the pun, strides in defending their division title. Signing Arrington and adding a playmaker at the third wide receiver position were big moves and should have a direct effect on the win/loss column. That being said, there are a few things that the Giants have to accomplish to keep their season a good one.
Improve The Defense

What do you mean when you say the Gaints had 3 good receivers last year. I count two good receivers, but I suppose you can count a tight end and a runningback since Shockey and Barber caught a lot of balls.

I was including Shockey as a reciever, in the sense that he was a huge threat in the passing game. I was wondering if I should clarify I mean two WRs and one TE but figured most fans would get it.
Sorry

No problem. I just think that if you include Shockey as a receiver you should also include Barber.

Good observations.
On the Tiki side, I would add that we need to see more imaginative use of Brandon Jacobs. Tiki will last longer if he can get a rest for a few plays each game. And while we’re at it, how about some creative play calling. Last year the calls were more predicatable than the tides.

This is really going to be a interesting year for the Giants. Number 1, they are not sneaking up on anyone. 2- they have one of the toughest schedules this year. It’s really brutal.
COLTS
Eagles
Seahawks
REDSKINS
Falcons
Cowboys
BUCCANEERS
TEXANS
BEARS
Jaguars
Titans
COWBOYS
Panthers
EAGLES
SAINTS
Redskins
I don’t see 1 easy week on this schedule. The Super Bowl winner doesn’t have a schedule this brutal. Trust me, all the acquisitions we made will be put to good use. We need everyone to stay healthy and we need the football Gods to bless us. I think we should be up for the task. I’m not worried about the defense as long as they stay healthy. The offense kind of dipped the second half of the season. We will need better production from Manning and company. At times he look confused with the coverage schemes and our recievers were not able to get open. So I think we are due to get back to the Super Bowl. I’m not afraid of any team on the schedule, but we are really going to have to compete in order for the Giants to come out on top this year.

GIANTS WEAKNESSES:
(1) DEFENSIVE TACKLES – MUST STUFF THE RUN
(2) LINEBACKERS SHOULD HELP HERE WITH ARRINGTON, PIERCE AND EMMONS – OF COURSE, THEY MUST STAY HEALTHY
(3) NEW SECONDARY HAS TO GEL PLAYING WITH EACHOTHER – ITS A NEW GROUP – BUT IF THE GUYS UP FRONT GET OPPONENT’S RUNNING GAMES STOPPED- THIS 2NDARY COULD BECOME BALL HAWKS.
(4)WHY ISN’T TIKI USED MORE IN PASSING GAME?
(5) WHY DON’T TIKI AND B. JACOBS LINE UP TOGETHER?
(6) WHY ISN’T SHOCKEY BEING USED LIKE FASSEL USED HIM (15 YARD STRAIGHT SEEM PASSES)? HE’S NOT A BLOCKER – HE’S A BIG RECIEVER.
(7) MORE CREATIVITY ON THE OFFENSE WILL TAKE PRESSURE OFF MANNING.
(8) WHY IS THE GIANTS OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR AS CONSERVATIVE AS HE IS WITH THE WEAPONS HE HAS? THEY CAN BE EVEN MORE EXPLOSIVE THAN THEY ARE.
GRANTED THEY HAVEN’T SCORED AS MANY POINTS AS THEY DID LAST YEAR SINCE THE EARLY 1960′S – BUT THE CAN IMPROVE.
