Very depressing Giants loss to Cowboys

A list of reasons for Giants fans to drink heavily:

1. The score 45-35 means that not only did we lose, but our defense absolutely sucked.

2. Speaking of the defense, Kiwi was asled to do an awful lot of coverage - not his strength.

3. The safeties can't cover either, particularly Butler. Time to convert a CB to free safety. In fairness, Wilson did play well in run support. Too bad he and Pierce are the only tacklers on the team...

4. The defensive line got kicked in the nuts and took it like babies.

5. Injuries. We seem to get slammed every year. Just getting an early start in 2007. Manning, Jacobs, Umenyiora, and Dockery - it's like a nightmare. Hopefully these guys aren't hurt too bad.

6. Manning was under lots of pressure. Sure the offense played well and we balme the defense for this loss, but we still saw Manning under lots of pressure. I don't blame the offensive line too much - running backs need to do better picking up blitzers (Droughns was OK here). Manning was hurt thanks to an unblocked Cowboy.

7. Alford's snaps look like a problem.

8. The refs screwed us. On the long touchdown pass to Sam Hurd on third down and seven , Cowboys wideout Patrick Crayton stepped forward in his stance. The play should have been blown dead and there should have been a penalty. No doubt our defense would then give up a different big play considering how badly they sucked.

Things that weren't so bad:

1. Derrick Ward played real well.

2. Diehl is really an NFL left tackle.
Manning played real well - his one interception was a great throw where Burress fell down.

3. Burress (despite the fall) and Toomer played real well.

4. Tynes played fairly well. Sure there were some low kcikoffs with not enough hangtime, but let's face it - we didn't even know if this guy was an NFL kicker or not.

5. Bradshaw can return kicks. Too bad he got so many chances thanks to our crappy defense though...

Great analysis, James. Since we play the 'boys again, I'm taking a mulligan on this and hoping that green bay at home is a way to get our D in rhythm. But your positional concerns were all on time. If the injuries are behind him, Eli is our unquestioned leader. That is nice.

Lack of conditioning ins unexcusable in Pro-Atheletes. They are getting paid a ton of money to stay in shape. I have no idea who is acting as the Giants Strength and Conditioning Coach but he should be looking for a new job today.

To have a pro-team's defense show up not conditioned to play a couple sets of downs is ridiculous. The weather excuse doesn't ring true either - you're conditioned or you're not, weather plays equally against both teams.

Also the extensive amount of injuries also points to lack of conditioning. Unfortunately it's too late to do anything about it now.

Of course I'm still pulling for the G-Men but it's going to be a tough year.

Stop whining, there was another team on the field and they took it to us. One week doesn't make a season.

We hsould have drafted Reggie Nelson. Then we would not have to have crappy James Butler back there.

Damn! What the hell, i am very disappointed. Are defense sucks the running game suck, Jacobs sure is not a tiki Barbara. big as his as is he gets gurt already, he has no speed or agility to avade tackles! that down hill running only last sop long, ask larry jhonson, eli hurt 4 weeks, that four losses you might as well say,we suck and i hate these fucking season already!! Coughlin can kiss my ass! FIRE HIM!!!!!!

Can someone share tell me why we're letting Coughlin finish out his contract? He's running us into the ground the same way Jacksonville eventually imploded. I've been tired of his act for two years now. The product on the field is a direct representation of the man making the final decisions on the sideline. You wanna know what I see? An unprofessional group of whiny, overly-injured, "me-guys" with horrible fundementals. Two examples of these: A.)the play-calling on third and short and fourth and shorter in the second quarter...Yikes! B.)The clear-cut display of aloof, unpassionate hustle by Doughboy Late... If you're a backup and you're in. Down Ten and you're scrambling for the sticks and the possible first down, AND you go about 265+lbs AND you go headfirst..You better damnwell bring the wood!!! To even spot the ball where he "thought" he made it to was a affirmation that he knew he didn't make it. He didn't sellout on the play and He knows it. If I was TC I would've been in his arse. I was reading something in here that said "our defense should pretty good" That's a pretty huge "should". Tell me when you return from myopic GiantsLand. I go way back to when The Gints first moved to Jersey and even when we sucked, and Boy! Did we! We always had a better than average D..Always. Names like George Martin, Carson, Beasley Reece, and then L.T. era came about. But in all my years as a passionate observer of The Big Blue have I seen such horrid, putrid, and nauseating display of "offensive defense". R.W. should pack his shit right how and take Sam "Rickey Henderson as a Yankee" Madison with him. But who would that leave? NOBODY!!! This Accorsi talks a lotta yang because he goes all the way back to Unitas and all that but look at his drafts he put headliners like Shockey, And Eli "let's mortage the future" Manning on the field but what else ya' got? We used to be like The pro version of Linebacker U. But since we went sack happy with Strahan it's been all about the front four. We got Pierce and and Zippo. Things are so bad they've taken to spinning that Kiwi is good and always around the ball and that we need to get him in the rotation by making him a LB. Are you F'ing kidding me! At least have the cojones to say what everyone else knows: We don't have any linebackers worth a bean so we're going to put in a DE cause he's young, wiry, and has a terrific motor. Can't Cover a Lick! Ok we'll just play zone. And to be honest why should he be any different than any other member of the Back 7. Butler? Pa-lease. Is Webster ever going to do a damn thing? The new Gm's regime isn't starting off too well either...Has there been a Sinorice Moss sighting this year? ..but I'm willing to give Reece a lil' of time/mo' rope. Go Blue! But by all means Care a lil'. Hit somebody please! Oh and Plax- Act like you've been there before. Late, Wms07

Has my opinion/lengthy rant been reviewed? Do I get a response either way or just the "high hat" if it's viewed upon disparagingly? Go blue. What happened to Reuben D. and why is Ward getting so much light/P.T.?
