How much can we blame on the Giants coaches?
Artur Staple accurately points out that Coughlin and co. can be held accountable for the playcalling, but not for all player performances. Will Demps, for example, needs to play better and no amount of coaching will turn Frank Walker into a player who always makes smart decisions. As always a good read worth checking out.
Posted by James Trotta at December 6, 2006 2:47 PMdemps has been horrible...obviously he was hiding in that great ravens secondary......this guy can't make a tackle to save his life....was i the only one who leaped off my couch thinking gibril wilson picked the ball off and was heading for pay dirt? i cannot believe he A) missed the INT and B) didn't at least get a hand on the ball. I couldn't believe my eyes....

The coaches can certainly be given there share, especially for not working with Eli to correct his inaccurate throws to open receivers. The play calling at different times is so predictable that us armchair QB's have no problem knowing exactly wha coming. If we know then the other team should ave the same knowledge. How about the forth down call on Sunday against Dallas? Bring in your big 260lb runnning back, which tells the other team that ts a running play, but then "fool them" by trying to run outside. WOW, how clever! A play that requires someone who is quick and shifty they decde to run with Jaoobs.
The gme against the Texans was the turning point for the giants. The barely escaped with a win against a team that they should have been able to put away early. The signs were there, but no paid any attention. Now the season is lost and the finger pointing is poised to begin in earnest

Dallas was the re-turning point to winning out this season and going to the playoffs to get rematches with all of our ghosts from earlier this year
but to echo one sentiment.........call the play calling predictable, call it unimaginative....one thing is for sure .............you can sure call it shitty
.....and just one more thing.........we need to include shockey carter plax brandon tiki & moss in the same game ...........not one or two of em at a time.........
Posted by: besamicool at December 7, 2006 12:12 PMWhat concerns me about the coach is perception. In any situation any manager needs to adjust their management style to adapt to the situation. When the G-Men were decimated with injuries, Coughlin kept going hard. There is no way a somewhat broken team can respond in a positive manner under these circumstances. His sideline actions show the percetion of someone who is losing control. He has to go unless he gets a ring.
