Before the game, I wrote about how I hoped we wouldn't have to watch another rookie QB outplay Manning. Yet, here's a Texans fan bragging about how Vince Young outplayed Eli Manning. Do you agree?
Posted by James Trotta at November 28, 2006 2:02 AMnormally, I would say Vince Young has got at least two or three more seasons in to go before he can be considered as a match up against Eli. However, he's proving me wrong. Eli is a good quarterback but something is not right with the giants. Plax should be a superstar right now hes huge.. and there is no reason why hes not one of the best in the NFL.. With a guy like jacobs to run in td's.. I cant figure out the problem.. I auto drafted in a new fantasy game.. GameDayDraft.com which is a daily fantasy website (not bad, pretty fun) and I got vince young and he won me some good money..
oh well.
Posted by: Andrew at November 28, 2006 4:54 AMYes he did and will for the rest of his career. I have him on my fantasy team at www.gamedaydraft.com, a new daily fantasy sports site with live scoring and he has had more points for the past few weeks than eli has had.
Posted by: Ian at November 28, 2006 5:21 AMHell yes Vince outplayed Eli. He's not a better QB, but he made plays in the clutch, he took what our defense gave him, he stayed poised, and he didn't turn the ball over. i haven't seen Eli do that in four weeks. outrageous.
Posted by: b co at November 28, 2006 2:09 PMWell Eli for whatever reason is going over a veryrough patch an bitching obviously doesnt seem to be the right approach. I do however agree with Peter King when I heard him on Mike n Mike this morning. He needs a decent QB coach get his technique squared away or atleast find him one. kevin Gilbride isnt that the same chump that got into a fight on the sideline with Buddy Ryan during the Oilers days in Houston. An a play caller for sure. this hufnagel is about as compotent as Marty morninweg. I guess if we get much worse we can have Matt Millen become our GM. I say get Jacobs an Shockey involved or we can hang it up this year. As for ringless third down back I do expect more from someone who has been a leader on this team I say tuck it an run let your feet an legs do the talking for ya. If ya got to bitch do it in the office...not even T.O. is talking now & that means Dallas has there shit together see the picture I'm painting here.
Posted by: robert carter sr at November 29, 2006 12:36 AMStick a fork in them, they are done! The G-men have laid an egg three weeks in a row. No excuses can be made. The team is out of sync and the players are to blame.
The offense should have been performing like a well oiled machine. Instead, they look pathetic. The defense, which has suffered the most in the injury department, has been playing mediocre. This past week against the Titans, the G-men showed some signs that they might be regaining the offensive sync that they had in the beginning of the year, but suddenly - in the second half they reverted back to they way they had been playing - lousy.
Eli needs help. A QB coach that can straighten out his release and confidence. The rest of the players need to step up and stop looking for someone else to carry the load. A most of all they need to get on the same page of music.
I give them no hope against Dallas this week and if they lose this one, they are not making the playoffs. As usual us Giant fans will be looking to the draft and next year.
Posted by: John Calzada at November 29, 2006 6:41 AMobviously you haven't been a "fan" long enough. the thing is we are NOT supposed to be suffering with THIS team. they play below their potential. Giant FANS who suffered through the 70's no all too well when you have the horses to win it all and they don't play hard, quit on the field and question the coaches then i have every damn right to boo the crap out this "team"....this kid has done things that even dave brown couldn't come up with....parcells cuts his place kicker on giants week instantly sending a message to his team that he wants this game and if you don't play hard and well it's your ass next. what are we doing with all these insubordinate cry babies? nothing! and we are supposed to accept this type of play and behavior and rally around this garbage? no, i'm a fan of the giants but not this collection of trash we have assembled.
Posted by: brian at November 29, 2006 8:49 PMWell Brian Im not here to bash anybody I mean I've seen Giant collapses before but would you still be saying "collection of trash" if Strahan weren't hurt or Arrington was still on the field along with Toomer an other injured players. Basicaly I say cut Burress an get the injured players back on the field then we can start winning again. But pissed off an saying trash is a bit much .
Posted by: robert carter sr at November 29, 2006 11:35 PMi think toomer is obviously missed the most especially by #10. his leadership and SUPPORT for the kid was unquestioned. as soon as i heard toomer was done i KNEW manning would struggle simply because of the fact that #17 and #80 just don't get it. they both should have spent the off season with him, not down in miami. the kid is basically on his own and #21 can say all he wants about his support of #10 but it doesn't matter. the giants FAILED misserably when they brought in #17 and you'd think after 4 full years #80 would shut his mouth and rally around this kid weather he gets the ball or not. the problem with this giants team is that there are way too many individuals and not enough "good soldiers" to do what it takes to win. they seem to have forgotten how bad that loss to carolina was last year or they would not blow a 21 point forth quarter lead to a insuperior team. injuries or no injuries there is NO EXCUSE for undermining the head coach, or giving up on plays or throwing ice into stands or calling another coach a homo or throwing your arms up in disgust because you didn't get the ball or pointing the finger at everyone but yourself. shut up, beat dallas, play as a TEAM, do what you're told and for god's sake KEEP YOUR DIRTY LAUNDRY IN HOUSE!
Posted by: brian at November 30, 2006 12:48 AMAmen Brother Brian...preach on, preach on.
I got my hands raised skyward..an will go so far as to try speaking in tongues if it'll help.
I just wish those boneheads could read these bullets of wisdom an put them to use. But for the record everyone here seems to be in agreement Plaxico is equivalent to the Ebola Virus on this team. We need to qurantine him like the Host in the movie "outbreak" before he kills off every fan. Then maybe we can get an antidote to the affected teammates.
Who would have thought we would be calling Plax a virus and not TO. I was hoping that he would help implode the cowgirls just like he did the seaguls. But, we now have our own little rouge to deal with.
If I channel Dion Warwick and Ms. Cloe......I see trades in our future don't ya know.
I see a new coach or coaching staff.
I see Eli being positioned to perform for his next team.
I see Brandon Jacobs making us ease the pain of Tiki leaving.
Ire (eye-re)
I keep in mind that these franchise is the same franchise that gave us that new intern in the white house feeling just 4 weeks ago.
I'm a Gfan and always will be. No matter Superbowl or Toiletbowl.....Go Big Blue.
