Giants play ugly and get the loss they deserve

In a game against the Jaguars, there was only one Giant worth watching. Shockey seemed to be giving his best effort the whole game, but no one else put together a consistently good game. More analysis later, but I'm tired of Manningmaking poor throws on stupidly called pass plays. And I'm tired of the secondary not getting its job done, especially Corey Webster who makes a nice play to bat away a TD on one play and falls down to allow receivers to run aorund wide open on another. And I'm tired of missed tackles. Reggie Torbor losing the sack, Will Demps, just some ugly football.

i cannot even begin to explain what i witnessed from manning last night. he's a 12 year old in a 25 year old body. pouting, no energy, no in tensity, NO BALLS......If we think this panty waist is going to lead us to the promised land we are sadly mistaken.

you don't even play the game i'm sure so you have no idea how hard it is. doing something for fun and something for work are two different things.

ARE YOU ON CRACK? Did you watch the game last night? The Bear game last week? How HARD it is? He can't even throw a screen pass without imploding. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WATCHING?

It never ceases to amaze me how NY finds ways to break fans hearts. I just don't understand how the Giants won the 86' an 90' Superbowls then fade to absentia to rise up in 2000 to get creamed by Baltimore then take center stage and Lose horrendously against Carolina last season. I didn't even mention the melt down in San Francisco with Jeff Garcia an the 49er's looking like Phillip Rivers an the Chargers. It was to be a banner year this season. Jeremy Shockey, Amani Toomer, Tiki Barber, a beast of a back in Brandon Jacobs, Plaxico Burress, Then Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyora, an a sharp looking rookie Mathias Kiwanuka. We had gotten rid of bad talent season after season in Ron Dayne, Dave Brown, Tyrone Wheatley, Coaches like Ray Handley, an Jim Fassel are gone. So please explain to me why is it We can't formulate some kind of dynasty...Do we need felons to suit up like the Cowboys? Does the front office just need to start a printing press an just throw money out like Dan Snyder(it's not helping there either.) I don't buy jerseys because it never fails that when I do the player either gets cut or traded. I own a Sehorn jersey,Armstead jersey an a Wheatley jersey....I'd much rather own a Charles Way jersey,Tiki or Amani or Shockey gear. The worst is all these prognostigators on tv an radio who at the preseason etc. say oh Dallas an Philly will run rough shod over the NFC east Washington will make a run blah, blah, blah. So before the season even starts NY is behind the 8-ball. Now fate looks like it's giving us a helping hand Washington is indescribably bad, Philly lost Jevon Kearse an McNabb, and got done in by field goals giving a nice cushiony lead to us G-Men. Dallas has Prima Donna drama star T.O. and a relic of a QB Drew Bledsoe...So essentially for the first few weeks all we had to do was show up. Who else in the NFC is worth a darn. The Bears please look at the North...it's a joke. The Giants have imploded and again brought pain, despair an anquish to the multitudes. I won't give up though I proudly sport the team colors especially the day after a game like last nights because fair weather fans are the absolute worst and when that miracle of a superbowl win occurs again I will have endured like my brothers an sisters who love the Giants as much as I do. If for some foolish reason we get fickle an give up on Eli, which is a big mistake, maybe Chris Simms can come to New York. I'm up for about anything. Namely a win. I love big blue. Win, Lose or other. Just don't tease me.

If anybody can answer my dilemma or feels anything like i do please let me know..

I have an answer for all of you......just chill out already.

On the team:
The Giants have been deicmated by injuries. DBs, LBs, don't even think about the d-line right now. It takes time for those rookies and subs to adjust to what we try to do. No Pettigout? No running to the left. No Amani? no 3rd down outlet. Eli has played BADLY, but only for the last 3 halves. And coincidentally, that was rigth after we lost Pettigout and the Bears and Jags D don't suck. Eli needs to play better. But as much as it sucks to hear, out coaches are a BIG problem. Our guys are not prepared for what they face every week, and they are not put in positions where they can make a play. Burress took a quick-out 20 yards for a TD this week. How many times do you see that play each week? Maybe once. And that's generous. Those plays are how you open up the run game. Our coaches don't have a clue.

As for New York sports:

The Giants won 2 Superbowls and not one of you can think of a WR on one of those teams off the top of your head. And in 2000, we were maybe the worst team to ever go to a superbowl in my opinion. That was not a Superbowl team. That was a very well-coached team. Try being a Bengals fan, or and Eagles fan...

well Ed McCaffrey for one. Then there was Phil McConkey A Tight End by the name of Mark Bavaro. Then running back Otis Anderson. Come on sympathy for the eagles are you banana's. Oh they cry for us I'm sure

i'm as big a giants as anyone. it all comes down to this kid. he was SHOT even before he stepped onto the field on monday night. he throws a screen pass to tiki in the dirt then throws a prayer into the end zone. after that screen to tiki i new we were losing that game. his confidence is gone and the look on his face tells you he'd rather be home baking cookies with his momma. he gets no help from #17 or #80, they are always in his head. a big blue mess yet again. can somebody please explain what the giants saw in this kid in college? Jesus, you fall asleep listening to him talk, how did they think he'd thrive in new york?

Everyone of you had a valid point and I agree with each of you. I see the problem like this. First, Eli played like shit. Someone with his talent has to become a leader instead of a powter. Second, any time you need to keep th running back in the backfield to help block because you have a lineman who can't, then change is needed there. I don't understand why they don't use Sharkey. Use him and things open up. This is the coaches fault. If you can't see what is needed and what changes are neede to be made, then you as coaches need to step down or at the very least, open your eys. And third, having been a Giant fan since 1962, I can see the changes since then anad tell you this. Throwing money into the problem can only create a team like the cowboys and getting players like T.O.. I would prefer Eli waking up and realizing he is a leader of a team and that he is not in college but the big leagues. Get a lineman who can block instead of making excuses. And, finaly, get the coaches glasses so they can see what they are doing by making the wrong calls.

Well we can see if Fran Tarkenton or Y.A. Tittle is available. Maybe Allie Sherman would like to take us back to brooklyn an we can have Sam Huff an Frank Gifford on opposite sides of the ball doing there stuff. With Andy Robustelli an Roosevelt Grier to be there to lend a helping hand, with Pat Summerall kicking the extra points.Unless you like more recent Giants Harry Carson, Lawrence Taylor,Leonard Marshall, Carl Banks, Pepper Johnson, Dave Meggett, Phil Simms, Chris Calloway, Matt Bahr, Raul Allegre, hell even Hershel Walker for special teams. We could have Tom Landry an Vince Lombardi back on the coaching staff to what ever lets just Get Er' Done!!!!Hey if we don't get it this season so be it. My favorite Game is Kerry Collins Killing Dennis Green an the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC championship. Or Kent Graham getting a last minute pass to Charles Way in the back of the end Zone to beat Denver an end there undefeated streak. I'm only 35 an have been a giants fan for about 20 of those yrs.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm not even going to talk about what's wrong with this team. But I will be praying that we get it fixed!

We need defence help why not try Jeremy Shockey? He is in the game all the time and ready to go when the other team has the ball.

tHE giants play dirt and rough, during the superbowl they pushed on player's heads and face masked people both of which are penalties as stated in section 2 of the rulebook. In addition they kick especially on the play where ellis hobbs intercepted a pass after it bounced off steve smith. Steve smith tried to kick ellis hobbs
