Sam Madison is a Giant. His contract is a bit longer than I expected: 4 years and $7.4 million with a signing bonus of $2 million. The Giants will pay Madison base salaries of $900,000 in 2006, $1.2 million in 2007, $1.5 million in 2008, and $1.8 million in 2009. There apparently is also an annual incentive of $250,000 for four or more interceptions.
Personally, I find it unlikely that Madison has 4 years left so I'm not sure I like the 4-year deal. The Giants should still be about $8 million under the $102 million salary cap. That means that something might happen when the giants meet with Arrington soon.
