With the Giants defense in serious trouble, Lynn Zinser writes that the Giants went looking for answers. The first bit of good news is that Bromell has been activated and expects to contribute right away even though he's rusty.
Chuck Wiley, who was recently released by Minnesota, is a decent signing. He won't attract the double and triple teams that Strahan sometimes did, but his experience should allow him to rotate a LDE with Bromell and keep players fresh. To revisit an old story, the Vikings are interested in Brock Lesnar again.
Meanwhile the AP summarizes the Giants work to get a decent defense on the field. Clearly Strahan's presence will be missed. Let's hope he can inspire William Joseph and Osi Umenyiora to step up, that Bromell can shake the rust off quickly and that Chuck Wiley plays decnetly in a system he doesn't know. It's a lot to hope for, but what better choice is there?
