Krenzel vs. Giants D

So the Giants play the Bears. It seems obvious to me that the Bears are a running team and A-train will probably start against the Giants. However I did find one article that makes a case for Krenzel. How strange! Especially considering the state of the San Francisco defense:

Despite the mistake, Krenzel, who was known for playing ugly and winning at Ohio State, gathered himself and stayed mentally focused. The intelligent signal caller finished the contest with decent numbers, completing 13-of-25 passes for 168 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

"Personally, I think I did some really good things out there," said Krenzel. "I threw some nice passes. [But] I'm very disappointed in the way that I protected the ball. That fumble in the pocket, I can't have that. That interception, the window was there and I threw it maybe a half count early. If I might have held onto it another half count, that's going to be a really big play."

I think the Gaints clearly have a better defense and if Krenzel looks decent against San Francisco, he shouldn't look decent against New York Giants. At least not the Giants who handled Green Bay and Minnesota. Probbaly anyone could beat the Giants who showed up to embarass themselves in front of the home crowd against Detroit.

My favorite quote todday: Playing the one-win 49ers at home was like an exhibition game compared with what he'll face Sunday at the Meadowlands against the surprising 5-2 Giants. The Bears coaches are optimistic that Krenzel's second start will be an improvement. The Chicago coaches see promise for Krenzel. Shea said before:

...that Krenzel wasn’t even an adequate second-string quarterback yet, and the plan wasn’t for him to play at all this season.
Shea says now:
As long as Craig functions the way he did Sunday night, you can’t help but say, 'Hey, there’s some energy there, there’s some quarterback playmaking skill there, there’s some movement in the pocket there.’
My prediction is that Krenzel will have trouble selling the play action pass and that the Giants defense will stop the Bears offense.
