Something different and a bit funny.

Ramses Barden and Andre Brown stepped up for the Giants but they were able to thanks to strong play from the offensive line. The defensive line did it’s job as well, so our secondary was able to be pretty aggressive out there. Of course Carolina is fairly weak so the Giants basically did what they ought to have done – great to watch but not exactly epic to beat the Panthers.
Meanwhile, Corey Webster says the game will be better when we get the old refs back. I dunno. I don’t miss the old guys. They were pretty shitty so I don’t think they should have gone on strike in the first place. These guys might be a bit worse but on TV it doesn’t bother me.
Meanwhile, the NFL sees lots of dirty / fineworthy stuff in the Giants – Bucs game. Good thing we won or the Giants getting fined for the kneel down antics would be tougher to swallow. KP hit a defenseless player in the head but the didn’t launch and didn’t lead with the helmet. But he has been fined before.
In week 1, the Giants offensive line was poor. The Buccaneers defensive line dominated in week 1. This means our offensive line is going to have to play a whole lot better or it’ll be another long day on offense.
Now the defensive line is supposed to be our big strength. And while our defensive line had some moments where individuals beat their man, overall Dallas was able to pass and run. With the passing it’s easy enough to blame our injuries but still, we didn’t stop the run and who do you blame that on?
Can the Giants stop the Bucs from running? It will take some improvement because they do have a decent running game.
So play better than week 1 guys!
The Giants cut Petrus and signed D.J. Jones because they thought Jones was better. Turns out that Jones had an injury they didn’t know about and couldn’t pass his physical, so we were left short a lineman. Sadly Petrus was the best we could do. Now maybe getting cut will motivate the dude to get better – vcan’t get much worse than this preseason at least.
So let’s talk Giants vs. Dallas to open the season. The Giants should have a strong passing game with Eli and his receivers but can the Giants offensive line stop the Dallas pass rusher?
And we have the same question going the other way. Romo is alright and the Dallas wideouts aren’t awesome but the Giants secondary is a mess with all our cornerback injuries. Our only chance, and it’s a good one I think, is for our defensive line to destroy the Cowgirls offensive line. Dallas has had issues with their offensive line too and the Giants pass rush is better than Dallas’ even if they do have the one stud.
