    • Who are you rooting for in the Giants DC position?

While it would be nice to see Pepper Johnson get the Giants defensive coordinator position, I don’t think now is the time for sentimentality.

A lot of guys have more experience:

Jets’ linebackers coach Bob Sutton was the defensive coordinator of the Jets under Eric Mangini.

Former Bills and Bears Head Coach Dick Jauron.

Former Browns Head Coach Romeo Crennel used to be an asssitant coach for the Giants during some good times.

Perry Fewell was the Bills’ defensive coordinator from 2006 to 2009 and the Bills’ interim head coach for the last seven regular-season games this year. He was the defensive backs coach for Tom Coughlin in Jacksonville for a while.

One Response to “Who are you rooting for in the Giants DC position?”

      1. buljos Says:

How about none of the above? How about an exhaustive search to find somebody who’s motivated to make a name for himself with this promotion, who has proven successful experience… like they did when they went with Steve Spags? Why retread guys like Dick Jauron or Romeo Crennel when Tom Coughlin’s not a defensive coach and the remaining position coaches on D aren’t worth much? How about somebody like Dennis Thurman? 4 years running the Ravens’ secondary then 2 more as defensive assistant with Rex Ryan, and played 9 years as CB and Safety. Give me a choice between Romeo Crennel or Dennis Thurman, and I’ll take Thurman.
