    • Safety in round 1?

      This mock draft is interesting:

      31. Giants – S Reggie Smith 6’0 200 4.5 Oklahoma
I still cannot believe they beat the Patriots, anyways, they need help at safety. Wilson is a free agent and James Butler got beat like a red-headed step-child last year. Smith has great cover skills but may lack speed to play corner in the NFL. He would make a heck of a cover safety though.

The mock has all 7 rounds… A punter in round 4…

One Response to “Safety in round 1?”

      1. Michael Says:

A mock draft is just someone going down the list team by team, giving what they thing is the teams most pressing need, and who they think is the best player at that position left. I’m not going to get too excited over it. There’s a lot we don’t know that will have a major effect on who and what positions we draft. Resign Mitchell? Strahan and/or Toomer retires? Resign one or both of the safeties, does Spag think he can work with them? Have we finally answered the question of who will replace Tiki with a tandem of Jacobs and Bradshaw? Backup Quarterback? Miami and Atlanta just dumped a load of players on the open market. Are we looking to target any of them in FA?

As we get closer to April and the draft we’ll know more about what they’ll be looking for. Until then it’s just sports writers doing what they get paid for, raking up some muck.
