Another look at the Colts vs. Giants 1958 championship game

      Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Here’s an interesting article where Andy Reid looks at the 1958 Colts Giants championship game. Some interesting stuff about how football was different back then and some interesting analysis of certain plays in the greatest game ever played.

One of the interesting notes is that since players didn’t do football full time, the game was much simpler. They couldn’t spend all day studying the playbook if they selling liquor or working for a steel company or whatever.

Chance to invest in Giants season tickets

      Saturday, September 6th, 2008

If you’re on the 90 year waiting list for Giants season tickets, you may get a chance thanks to the new stadium. The Giants will be charging a one time personal seat license (PSL) fee for the right to purchase season tickets. The fee is $1,000 to $20,000 per seat.

In my opinion, this will mean more people selling their seats online and looking at the seat as an investment asset rather than a family tradition.

      Kiwanuka should be OK

      Saturday, September 6th, 2008

I think most Giants fans agree that our defense can kick butt even without Strahan and Umenyiora. But when Chris Samuels took a dive at the back of Kiwanuka’s ankles I realized that if we lose another DE we are in trouble.

I guess we expect bush league crap from the Redskins, but it still sucks. And of course Samuels says it was not intentional. How do you accidentally tackle someone from behind? Anyway xrays indicate Kiwanuka should be OK.

The offensive line did warn us a while back that they liked playing dirty. And the old news article are gone, but let’s not forget Robert Royal intentionally taking out Barret Green’s bad knee.

Definitely got some work to do

      Friday, September 5th, 2008

This article talks about Eli Manning’s error against the Redskins. He certainly got away with a few. What bugs me a little is Laron Landry’s comment: “Eli takes more chances than most, and he gives you the opportunity to make plays. It looked like street ball, but give him credit – he got it done.”

Yeah, and you did not Laron. Although let’s give Landry credit for this highlight reel stop of Brandon Jacobs:

Suspend Chris Samuels for his cheap shot on Kiwi?

      Thursday, September 4th, 2008

The Giants beat the Redskins. That’s cool.

Chris Samuels took a cheap shot at Kiwi. That’s not cool and the POS Redskin deserves a big fat fine and suspension.

      This is still nfl-giants.com

      Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Don’t be alarmed – this is still www.nfl-giants.com. Yes it looks stupid now (not that I was nominated for any design awards before) - this is temporary the site will change looks again in a few days.

I’m not sure if that will be before or after we beat the Redskins to begin our Super Bowl defense. But it will be soon…
