America outswims those annoying French losers in the 400 freestyle relay
I usually to stick to football, but today it’s Olymp[ic swimming. Can I just say how happy I am the the US beat the French in the 400 freestyle relay?
Those French losers talked trash before the event, specifically the dude who got owned - and by owned I mean completely destroyed and hopefully humiliated - on the final leg. Alain Bernard is that dickhead's name.
And even after the relay, when given a chance to be gracious in defeat, they still acted like total pricks: "A fingertip did the victory," said Amaury Leveaux, one of the French swimmers. "It is nothing."
I think it's something when one team talks trash before an Olympic event - the Olympics, which are supposed to be about skill and class by the way - then loses, and then fails to give props / credit to the better team.
Although some of the French who were not on the realy team were abit mroe classy: "Alain is wounded. When you are the last swimmer in a relay and that you have the opportunity to bring a title of this importance to your country, you don't get out of this unhurt," said Claude Fauquet, France's team director. "But I don't think that Alain lost the race. It's Lezak who won it."
A French team official: "I think he (bernard) got it wrong, I think it's as simple as that.
Actually, I can break it down into somehitng even more simple. Don't talk trash during the Olympics.
Any French Olympian with a shred of class should now be saying that non only was Bernard wrong that the French would beat us, he was also wrong to run his mouth. He should have been looking for the kind of spirit Lezak found instead of holding press conferences:
"I'm not going to lie," Lezak said yesterday. "When I got to 50 and still saw how far ahead of me [he was] and he was the world record holder … for a split second I thought ‘no way’.
“And then I changed and I thought, ‘You know what? This is the Olympics and I’m here for the United States of America. I don’t care how bad it hurts. I got like this supercharge.”
