Will the Texans match our offer for fullback Vonta Leach?
Vinny Ditriani won’t guess one way or the other. He notes how Leach had an impressive impact on the Texans’ Ron Dayne powered running attack. Leach’s agent says it could go either way. Most Giants fans would like to see him coming to NY thinking that he’s a more powerful lead blocker than the experienced Finn. I’m going to go with the reporters and not say anything useful because I don’t know enough about Leach to comment on his play compared to Finn’s. What do you guys think?

Good signing from a youth standpoint. But, still, he’s only a fullback.
Can he catch out of the backfield like Finn? I doubt it. The guy has 11 catches over he past 3 years, so it appears that we’re losing that option in the passing game.
At 250lbs, he’ll be a load as a blocker for Jacobs, though, so that might work out.
It appears to me that Floyd Reese is allergic to guys who have been injured. Look at Petitgout, Arrington, Emmons, Carter etc… Of course, aside from Luke, none of those guys will be missed too terribly.
Hell, if it weren’t for their contracts, I’m sure Toomer and Strahan would be gone as well…
Everyone’s dumping on Reese for not signing any FA’s worth a damn, but I would argue that the talent level, aside from Clements who the Niners overpaid for anyway, has been pretty underwhelming this year.

you need a blitz blocker more then just a run blocker , but we need a new offensive plan as verses the one that we have had since the last supper.

I don’t know much about Leach and not sure if he is worth the money.

Hell yes I’m all for it. Jim Finn has been a waste of a roster space for 3 years. And before him? Greg Comella. Please. ‘Bout time we had a young, strong back that could open holes. I don’t want our FB catching passes. That just means Eli didn’t get rid of the ball, or Plax, Toomer, Moss, Shockey and Jacobs screwed up. I want a guy that can create the space we need to close out games. That’s what he does. As for our gameplan, we’ve gotten away from it. We need to go back to smash-mouth, in-your-face offense and QB pressure D. Just because we have a great QB doesn’t mean we have to get fancy. I love the moves so far. This FA class blows. I’m really liking the way Reeses is building our team.
