    • Kiwanuka moving to SAM

Last year’s #1, Matthias Kiwanuka, is going to have a try at playing SAM. Kawika Mitchell, who I assumed would play SAM, will compete with Wilkinson at WILL. Obviously Pierce will play in the middle.

SAM = Mathias Kiwanuka / Zak DeOssie / Reggie Torbor
MLB = Antonio Pierce / Chase Blackburn
WLB = Gerris Wilkinson / Kawika Mitchell

I’m beginning to think that things aren’t looking good for Torbor. His strength was rushing the passer but Kiwi should be as good or better doing that.

      1. Michael Says:

        Frankenstein’s Linebacker

Everyone has been looking for the next Lawrence Taylor. So what do you do when you can’t find one? You build one. You take a guy with the size, speed, and strength you want at that position and you make him a LB. The fact that Kiwanuka is coming over from DE doesn’t suprise me. Running a 4-3 defense the Giants have always relied on speed at the position. If Kiwanuka can make the transition, and it might take the whole season, I think we may well be looking at not just a future pro-bowler, but dare I say, possibly even a future hall of fame LB.
