Giants will continue the stretch play with Jacobs
I think you have to have different running plays – we’re often complaining the Giants are too predictable. If they sometimes run Jacobs up the middle, sometimes rune the stretch, sometimes run off tackle, etc. it should be harder for opposing defenses to defend our offense.
Anyway, this article talks about Jacobs being the Giants main runner:
“I think this guy can [run the stretch], he’s faster, he’s faster than Tiki,” Gilbride said. “It was his ability to cut back that made Tiki special. That’s what I don’t know [with Jacobs]. But we’re definitely going to have those plays. At this point it still will be a core play, a base play, for us.“Will it be as good a play? That remains to be seen.”

I’m pulling for Brandon to have a great year but I don’t think that the 1400 yard season fans have predicted is going to be easy. Also let’s not forget that he had a couple of unfortunate fumbles last year.
Over on the MVN board there is alot of talk about how easy it will be for the running game to dominate. Don’t forget Tiki might be a tad slower than Brandon but he has already proven he is an elite runner. There are a lot of good runners in the NFL who never ran for 1400 yards.
Of course we could use Lorenzen as quarterback in an option set and call it the “one ton” backfield…..ha ha

If Jacobs is splitting duty like I expect, I really don’t see him hitting 1400 yds. But I don’t see 1200 as being unrealistic, that’s only 75 yds a game.
