    • Giants dominate Chiefs in second preseason game

NFL.com says it was a combination of good play by the Giants and weak play from the Chiefs.

Coughlin seems pretty happy about everything except Petigout’s back (spasms) and O’Haras knee (maybe a sprain). The defensive line was strong, even the tackles. The secondary wasn’t tested too much but they passed the quiz. Eli Manning and the Giants running game looked good.

Kansas City fans are worried, partially because Green didn’t have much time to throw. Of course, here in New York, we’re all smiles.

One Response to “Giants dominate Chiefs in second preseason game”

      1. michael Says:

Game 2, against what should have been a better team than the Ravens who they opened the preseason against didn’t look that way. The Giants were dominating on both sides of the ball. The recent interviews of DTs at the Meadowlands would seem to have lit a spark in Robbins who played well last night. and seems to be showing that he wants the starting job. The Giants rookie DE and first round pick, showed again that he’s ready for the NFL by recording another sack and a forced fumble. Justin Tuck also put his name in the ring as a possible successor for Strahan should he decide to retire after the season. The effort of the front 7 didn’t give the secondary much of the spotlight but 2nd year CB Webster was in position to break up a few passes last night. Additionally it might be infered that a good performance by the secondary last night helped to keep Trent Green from getting off any quick passes allowing the front to perform the way it did. Overall a great showing from the defense. Offense showed signs that they were ready to repeat last years season start, by driving down field and taking a 14-0 lead. Eli looked good in his performance, thanks in part to his receiving corp and blocking from the line, as did the running game.

All in all they showed themselves to be a team that may well live up to the hype they’ve had. Maybe, just maybe, there is a chance that they can be the first team in history to go undefeated for a full 16 game season.
